Ranger Ready Partners with Independent Pharmacies

Ranger Ready Picaridin Insect Repellent is the safe and effective alternative to DEET

"Pharmacists are the most accessible healthcare providers, and often among the most trusted.  What we recommend holds weight with our patients.”

At Ranger Ready, our goal is to protect the whole family, which is why we feel it’s a priority to partner with the independent pharmacy community.

Independent pharmacies are often the pillars of their communities; they understand their patients’ needs on a personal level and are particularly tuned in to the health risks faced in their areas. From Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Corinth, Maine, to Denver, Colorado, independent pharmacies are a hub for community gatherings, local gossip, and purchasing the safest products for themselves and their loved ones.

Because Ranger Ready uses Picaridin 20%, the safe and effective alternative to DEET, our goals are the same as the pharmacies’. Picaridin is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as a body-worn insect repellent for use by adults, children aged 1-year and older, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Unlike DEET, Picaridin is not a neurotoxin and is non-corrosive to clothing and materials including plastic, rubber, leather, latex, vinyl, rayon, elastic, spandex and auto paint.

“We started Ranger Ready because we wanted to create a better bug spray that will protect people,” said Chris L. Fuentes, Ranger Ready founder and CEO. “We use Picaridin 20% because allows people to get outside and play protected, while not putting anyone’s health at risk, which we know is also a priority for the independent pharmacy community.”

Said Dustin Rogge, owner of Washington Health Mart: “Pharmacists want to help, but too often as a profession we are reactive instead of being proactive. Pharmacists are the most accessible healthcare providers, and often among the most trusted.  What we recommend holds weight with our patients.”

Rogge continued: “I recommended Ranger Ready initially based off information available, which includes its advantages over both DEET products and essential oils.  Ranger Ready has a great smell, and picaridin's better profile on clothes and plastics vs DEET are clear advantages.”

As a small company, we are also in tune with the bandwidth capability concerns that small businesses have. Ranger Ready has partnered with Independent Pharmacy Group Purchasing Organizations like EPIC, NPSC, QualityCare, and Cardinal Health, all organizations that make it easy for pharmacies to get the right product in the right locations at the right price.
